New to Ware? Start here. It’s a low-commitment way to try our new custom glazes — three small batches to find your color, with no big order to commit to. Tell us the color, surface, and cone you’re chasing, and we’ll make a glaze just for you. Fire it, tell us how it turned out, and we’ll refine it — up to three times — until it’s the glaze you had in your head. Three guided batches for $35.
How it works
1.Design your vision.
A color from a photo, a swatch, or something from our gallery — plus your cone and the finish you want. We formulate your first 350g batch from decades of glaze chemistry, not guesswork, and ship it to you dry.
2.Fire it, then tweak it.
The blue’s not deep enough? The red came out muddy? Close, but not quite your shade? Work with our Glaze Troubleshooting Guide to identify why, then click the “tweak your glaze” feature on wareglaze.com to make your updates yourself — no waiting on us.
3.Get your next batch.
We mix your updated 350g batch — it’s already covered by your program, so you just confirm shipping. Fire it, review it, refine it — up to three rounds to dial it in.
4.Get it just right.
Once your glaze is dialed in, it’s saved to your Ware account — reorder it anytime, in any size, whenever you need more.

Getting the best result
Dialing in adjusts the glaze itself, so it works best once your firing is steady. Fire each batch the same way — same clay body, same cone — and log your result the same way each round. The more consistent your firing, the faster the glaze converges on what you want.

Some results — an underfired matte finish, crazing, or a cone that didn’t match — are firing fixes you can make yourself in a single step, no program needed. When the guide points to the glaze itself needing to suit your kiln and clay, that’s exactly what dialing in is for.
Ware currently makes glossy glazes in the cone 4–8 range.
US shipping only, charged on each of the three batches. Must be 18 or older. Custom glazes are made to order and aren’t returnable — which is exactly why we keep refining until it’s right. Fire and tweak within 30 days of each batch to keep your program moving.
