Refund & Return Policy

1. Custom-Made Products

Every glaze sold on Ware is mixed to order from your selected color, firing cone, finish, and batch size. Because each batch is custom-formulated for your specifications, our refund and return policy reflects that reality.

2. Cancellations Before Production

You can cancel a glaze order for a full refund at any time before production begins. Production typically starts within 24 hours of order confirmation. To cancel, email info@ceramicmaterialsworkshop.com with your order number, or use the "Cancel order" link in your order confirmation email. Once production has started, the order cannot be cancelled.

3. Unopened Product Returns

Unopened glaze in its original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the product price. You are responsible for return shipping costs. To initiate a return:

  1. Email info@ceramicmaterialsworkshop.com with your order number and a photo of the unopened bag.
  2. We'll reply with a return shipping address and an RMA number within 1 business day.
  3. Ship the glaze back via any trackable carrier. Include the RMA number on the package.
  4. Refund issued to your original payment method within 3 business days of receipt.

4. Opened Glaze Is Non-Returnable

Once a glaze bag is opened — even if the powder looks unused — we cannot verify cross-contamination status or resell the product. Opened glaze is non-returnable and non-refundable. This includes glazes where the bag seal has been broken for inspection.

5. Defective or Damaged Shipments

If your glaze arrives damaged (ripped bag, wrong material, contamination visible before opening), let us know within 7 days of delivery and we'll replace it at no charge or issue a full refund — your choice. Please include a photo of the damaged packaging or contents in your email.

6. Color Match Disputes

Our engine predicts fired color from a database of real test tiles, but there's always some variance between the predicted hex and what comes out of your kiln. Factors outside our control (your clay body, cone, atmosphere, kiln behavior, application thickness) can shift the final color visibly.

For this reason, color variance alone is not grounds for a refund. However — we care about your result. If a fired test tile came out meaningfully different from the predicted hex, send us a photo via our contact form. We'll troubleshoot together, and if the engine underperformed we may offer a discount on a follow-up batch as a goodwill gesture.

7. Shipping Charges

Shipping charges are non-refundable except when the return is the result of our error (wrong glaze shipped, damaged in transit, defective product).

8. Refund Method

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout (typically the credit or debit card processed via Stripe). Processing time depends on your card issuer — typically 3–10 business days from when we submit the refund. We do not issue store credit or checks in lieu of card refunds.
